New rail route – from Vilnius to Daugavpils



JSC “Lithuanian Railways” recently opened a new route, connecting the Lithuanian capital city Vilnius to the 2nd biggest town of Latvia – Daugavpils. This new route is a fast and comfortable way to travel between those two cities – the journey lasts 2h30, with stops in Lithuanian cities of Pabrade, Svencioneliai, Ignalina, Dukstai, Visaginas. The route is active on weekends – on Saturdays and Sundays, with two departures a day: 5h42 and 11h45 from Vilnius, 8h57 and 15h41 from Daugavpils. The train stations, in Vilnius as well as in Daugavpils, are in a 15 minutes walking distance from city centers. One way ticket costs 9€ for an adult.
