A grand architectural monument in the city, built in 1980, Tallinn City Hall will re-open its doors in 2020, after thorough reconstruction, as the most modern conference centre in Northern Europe and the best concert venue in Estonia.
The present ice rink will be demolished and a new version with the same dimensions will be built in its place, along with seven conference rooms of different sizes, a black box of 500 square meters and a cinema of the same size. A removable space glass structure, which can be used for special dinners and other events, will be built on the roof of the ice rink.
The iconic outer shape of the building will not change and people can still walk across the building to the sea. The seaside location of City Hall makes the new conference and concert centre even more unique.
